Day 1 Antananarivo
Arrival in Tana, meet and greet at the airport then transfer to your hotel .
ANTANANARIVO
Antananarivo means “City of thousands”. Its story began 500 years ago, the king Andrianjaka sent over 1000 soldiers to cut the forest and to conquer the land. Then the great King Andrianampoinimerina, attracted by the beauty of the city, decided to build a palace there, which became later his successor’s main palace. From here the same king started to unify the different kingdoms of the island. During King Radama’s reign Antananarivo became the capital of all Madagascar. Antananarivo is built on 3 levels: the high city where the queen’s palace is situated, the first area occupied during the royal period, then the mid-city, the administrative area where all the better boutiques of the capital are found, then the low city which is the commercial area of the town.

Day 2 Antananarivo – Ranohira (Isalo)
Breakfast at your hotel then car transfer to the airport of charter in Ivato, to board on a 140 minutes charter flight to Ranohira, we will fly over Isalo massif. Arrival estimated around 11.40. Transfer and check-in to your hotel. After lunch, light hike in the surrounding of the hotel to enjoy the scenery of this eroded sandstone massif.

Day 3 Ranohira (Isalo)
Morning excursion in the National Park of Isalo and the «Natural swimming pool». This park is very famous for its strange geological formation. Composed of sandstone and eroded by the rain and the wind, this massif offers the most spectacular scenery of the country. This is also a place where the BARA tribes used to bury their dead until they have enough money to buy a silver coffin. If we are lucky, we will see the lemur catta during this walk. Around 16.30, we’ll drive to the “The Natural window “where we see the sunset through a rock-window.

Day 4 Ranohira (Isalo) – Morondava
Breakfast and at 07.30, transfer to the airstrip and board on a 120 minutes charter flight to Morondava, we will fly over Isalo massif. Arrival around 10.00. From the airport, 30 minutes transfer by car to Your hotel. Check-in then and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, a 4WD will pick you and drive you for 40 minutes transfer to the allée des Baobabs for photos and sunset. This area is know for its baobab and its dry western forest. End of afternoon, back to Morondava, transfer and settlement in hotel.

Day 5 Morondava – Anjajavy
Breakfast then transfer to the airport and board on flight to Anjajavy with a stop over Majunga for refuelling. Situated to the north-east of Majunga, at the end of a peninsula, opened to the “Mozambique Canal”, Anjajavy is only accessible by private plane. Implanted in a bay and boarded with small creeks, a white sandy beach, it is an idyllic site. This is the first “Relais Chateaux” in Madagascar. Its architecture and bungalows are designed to have the maximum comfort with a traditional Malagasy way. All the bungalows are made and decorated with rose wood, the roofs are thatched with Satrana, an endemic palm of the country. It has 1 swimming pool of 200 m2 facing the sea and surrounded by a nice garden.

Anjajavy Hotel DBB
Day 6- 7- 8 Anjajavy
Three days at leisure. Anjajavy is just a “paradise on earth”. Set in a blue- emerald coloured see, in a luxuriant vegetation with a rich wildlife, it is a place where you can stay a whole week. Many activities are offered: like walking in the forest to see wildlife and to meet the village nearby. Many excursions on foot are available like “ les pieds dans l’eau” which is crossing the mangrove during the low tide, “ Crique en Crique” which is walking across the different creeks around, “ la balade du géant” which is to discover the huge baobab ( 3m of diameter) , “ a la rencontre des Sakalava” which is a trekking in the forest to meet the local tribe Sakalava.
