Madagascar Exclusive Tours is a Madagascar DMC, founded by Hely Rakotomanantsoa and Franz Loontjens late 2018. A small Tour Operator specialised on tailor-made, high end and luxury travel. Our particularity remains on the fact that we, the owners are fully involved in the conception, design, plan, and organization of each tours. We personally choose and deal with exclusive suppliers, selecting them with strong criteria whether on the quality of service, safety, and comfort of our customers
Exclusivity means Quality versus quantity, so we are designing very few but « Exclusive tours ». Designing exclusive tour requires time, a load of works, extensive knowledge and experience, good network, and a meticulous attention planning, choosing and supervising the whole process especially in a destination like Madagascar where things need to be checked permanently. Our guides and back-office team have explored the 4 corners of Madagascar, have met our local suppliers, and have tested the product ourselves, have them improved, adjusted to meet our customers’ requirement and needs before offering it to our customers. This enables us to easily tailor our customers’ tours according to their wishes, their budget and their expectation.
Our guides are all passionate and knowledgeable, our back office team is as dedicated and experienced. They have been working with us the last 15 years. Hely Rakotomanantsoa
Hely strong points are creating, organising and leading (maybe her past as a Scout chieftain explains it). “Impossible” is not part of her vocabulary. She “figuratively speaking” moves mountains for her clients, finding solutions where everybody else would give up. She constantly strives for excellence and spends a lot of her energy to make her customers happy. A well known figure in Malagasy tourism as the former President of the “Association des Tours Opérateur Professionels de Madagascar” “TOP Madagascar”, her contacts throughout the industry are invaluable.
Her job at Exclusive Madagascar Tours is to conceive and design exclusive itinerary. She uses all her 25 years experience and knowledge to cater for a unique and bespoke holidays in Madagascar. Her input in the conception and organisation phase is precious. She and Franz will be the interlocutor between Exclusive Madagascar Tours and the client.
Favourite place: anything with water: river lake sea. Sainte Marie Island, Canal des Pangalanes, Giethoorn in the Netherlands

Franz Loontjens
A Belgian who fell in love with Madagascar during a mission he did in Madagascar in October 2007. A licensed airline pilot and aviation engineer, specialised in aerial photography, he worked in 30 different countries with his aircraft before he decided to settle in Madagascar and join Island Continent Tours as Hely’s partner in life and business. Franz’s contribution to the company is great with his very high standards (because of his previous job). He is demanding in the quality of our offer and mainly the security of customers. He has the mindset of the “Western tourist” which makes him the quality control inside the company.
After leading Dutch, Belgian, German, Austrian groups, he has seen the whole Madagascar: roads, lodges and hotels, parks, guides, transport. The different trips with different nationalities helped him to get an immediate feedback and reaction from customers, allowing him to change, rectify and adapt or cancel the products. also to check all accommodations, parks, guides and above all to get accurate customers’ feed-back
Hely and Franz’s job at Exclusive Madagascar Tours is to talk and listen to the clients’ wish then, they conceive and tailor exclusive itinerary and discuss with customers until their requirement is met. They will also choose the transport, select the best guide, and check all the operations during customers’ holidays, make sure that everything runs as planned.
They hand over the agreed itinerary to the production department for a quote and booking who will make a permanent report and feed-back to him. They are the interlocutor between Exclusive Madagascar Tours and the client and will permanently discuss and exchange with them.
Franz’s favourite: doing a multi-day trip by motorbike all over Madagascar.
